Rising folk-pop artist Brenn! Has just released a brand new single called "Footing," and an accompany music video. The song marks his first release since the Upstate EP dropped earlier this year. The Darkroom sent over the following details:
Marking a new chapter of creative and spiritual clarity, the track blends folk-rooted storytelling with the heartbeat of modern pop, tracing the fragile dance between stability and collapse - between finding your balance and losing your ground.
With "Footing," Brenn! delivers his most spiritually grounded work to date - a song about rediscovering equilibrium after heartbreak. Anchored by warm acoustic textures and tender introspection, he poses the haunting question: "Did you find your footing right where you belong?" The result is a track that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Brenn! says of the track: "Footing is the shift between being a musician and becoming an artist. I cannot wait to see how this whole project comes together."
Fresh off his sold-out "Days on End" North American tour, which ran from March through May and included stops at El Rey Theatre (Los Angeles) and The Bowery Ballroom (New York City), Brenn! continues to build momentum. His Upstate EP surpassed 100 million streams, showcasing a deeper, more introspective sound on standout tracks like "Franklin House" and "Days on End."
The release also marks a period of renewal for the Alabama-born singer-songwriter, whose storytelling continues to evolve with each project. In a recent interview with EUPHORIA Magazine, Brenn! reflected on his growth: "I just need to pull from my past and articulate it in a way that's relatable," he shared - a mission fully realized in "Footing."
Emerging from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Brenn! first captured audiences with his viral breakout "4Runner," which landed on the Billboard Top 50 and amassed millions of streams and social media views. Following his debut EP Country Line, he embarked on a sold-out headline tour and graced the stages of Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, and Sing Out Loud Festival. Named to Billboard's "21 Under 21" and hailed as One to Watch, Brenn! continues to carve out his space as one of folk-pop's most compelling new voices.
