After nearly a decade of raising four children on my own, rebuilding piece by piece, and learning how to stand fully in my own decisions, I reached a place where I wasn't chasing escape anymore. I wasn't trying to prove anything. I wasn't reacting to the past. I finally felt rooted in the life I built. This song came from that quiet, powerful realization.

The lyric "I'm stronger, wilder, braver than I used to be" really anchors the heart of the song. Strength doesn't feel loud to me anymore, it feels calm. It feels like peace in your own home. It feels like trusting your own voice without needing outside validation. When we sat down to write it, I knew I didn't want it to sound like survival. My last chapter of music lived in that space. The track took on this grounded, soulful energy that felt authentic to my roots: country, blues, gospel, rock 'n' rol...all woven together.

Working in the studio with Brian White and Jason Sever while cutting vocals was equally powerful. There's a vulnerability that happens when you step up to the mic with a song this personal. They created a space that felt safe and focused, where I could deliver the vocal from a place of truth rather than force. You can hear the calm confidence in it, it's not over-sung or over-performed. It's steady. It's intentional. It's me standing exactly where I'm meant to stand.
