Geoff Tate revealed in a new interview with Mark Strigl on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard that his forthcoming "Operation Mindcrime III" is told from the perspective of Dr. X.
Tate told Strigl, "The first 2 albums are written from the perspective of 1 guy who is Nikki, the main character, and Dr. X is this, uh, kinda of shadowy character that is controlling Nikki and the other character who is Sister Mary who is a part of the story.
"We never really know much about Dr. X. We just know that he is this charismatic character who, uh, who has a lot of control, who has a lot of money. So, this album really, is really telling the story from his perspective. How he sees Operation: Mindcrime one and two."
Geoff also shared some details about the stars who are involved in the album. "John Moyer (Disturbed) kind of came in late in the game actually. The songs were written by Kieran Robertson, Alex Hart and myself over the last couple years.
"We had all these wonderful songs, we had the album kind of put together but it wasn't all finished, ya know? There were parts and pieces missing. John came in at my request to sort of act as a producer and really put together the whole thing.
"There wouldn't be an album if it wasn't for John. He really came in and really made us stick to our guns and put everything together, He is.... We call him the finisher and he really is. He was instrumental in making the album complete. He did a great job and had a lot of great input. He was fantastic to work with."
