Rush: Neil Peart No One's Disciple Documentary Trailer Released

(hennemusic) The official trailer has been released for "Neil Peart: No One's Disciple", a new documentary about the late Rush drummer. The film documents the late Canadian musician's tough start as a young artist, followed by his meteoric rise. The film includes interviews with Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside reflections of other acclaimed drummers.

It also features Lee and Lifeson's new live performances of Rush classics - with the likes of The Police's Stewart Copeland, Tool's Danny Carey, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree and King Crimson filling Peart's seat at the drum kit.

Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn - who previously directed the 2010 Rush documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage" - the project will premiere on September 16 at the Toronto International Film Festival, with a subsequent public screening on September 19.

Peart passed away in January of 2020 at the age of 67 after a three-and-a-half year battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma.

Lee and Lifeson recently returned to action under the Rush banner: the "50 Something Tour" has been built as a tribute to the iconic drummer, with the duo joined by acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold.
