Singled Out: Trevor Finlay's A Little Too Much

Nashville blues-rock artist Trevor Finlay just released his new single "A Little Too Much" and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

First, let me say that I am really happy with how this one came out. It's snappy. (Superfluous That Thing You Do reference!) I wrote "A Little Too Much" with the late and great Robert K. Wolf, one of my favorite cowriters and all around humans. I've recorded and released several songs that I've written with him. He was remarkably creative and open to ideas. It was as if he had an antenna that was able to receive ideas from undiscovered places. He left us far too soon.

The song came from the notion that not only are we bombarded with constant information, but I know way more about things and people's opinions on those things than I ever wanted to. The world is very noisy these days.

That being said, there is an irony of drawing attention to it by adding to it, but that is the way I prefer to deal with everything, with a sense of humor. I mean, you have to, right?

I was able to recruit some of my exceptionally talented friends to be a part of it, like Sam Harrisson on drums and Clay Krasner on bass. Mike Klooster (Smash Mouth) co-produced and mixed the song and also lent his keyboard expertise to it as well.

And like I said, I'm really happy with how it came out and I hope you give it a listen and dig it.
