Rumblefrenz just released their new album "WE EXIST IN THE REALM OF INFINITE POSSIBILITIES" and to celebrate we asked Rumble to tell us about the single "Hit The Road". Here is the story:
One of our favourite places to listen to tunes is while driving in the car, especially when it's a trip where you can put on a full album or a bunch of select banger songs. You know, just getting out there, finding something to get up to, and letting the music and the vibe take you to wherever it is you're going.
Something we really wanted to capture was a sense of encouragement for people to go out and make their own fun and take chances on opportunities. Sometimes these doors to another existence are placed before us, and sometimes we have to go looking. You never know what might happen if you just go for it, and in our experience taking this initiative has resulted in some core life-changing moments in the best way possible.
We also thought it would be fun to throw in as many fun hooks and parts as possible. We wanted this to be a song that people could learn the words to easily so they can sing along at the top of their lungs. We also wanted moments where people could clap and stomp along, as that's always a fun time. We also wanted to keep people guessing to an extent. So the song has what we think is an interesting structure.
There's a part in "HIT THE ROAD" where we reference the first song we released, "MONSTER ATTACK!" and we felt that was very Beatles and also Veruca Salt of us to be talking about another song. But we also thought it would be nice to do so in a way that expresses gratitude to people who have listened to our music since the beginning, while also maybe prompting people to look at our back catalogue!
We didn't initially intend to write a song that felt like one of the ones we'd have listened to in the 90s, at full blast, on the radio, but here we are! It's kind of amazing to see and hear how songs turn out after working on them for a while and running it by other people. So I want to also give a shout out to Michael Small, who plays bass on a lot of RUMBLEFRENZ track and also Peter Chapman, who encourages us to have the most fun possible while recording. I think the fun that we had comes across in the final tune, and everyone I've talked to has had similar things to say.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen and watch for yourself below and learn more here
