Former Deep Purple star Glenn Hughes took to social media on Wednesday (October 14th) to express his gratitude as he recovers following a 10-hour open heart surgery.
He shared via Instagram, "Now home after an eight day stay, and a 10 hour open heart surgery, operation, at UCLA, Ronald Reagan, Medical Center. Gratitude beyond."
Hughes revealed back in August that he had decided to retire to from performing live to focus on his health. He said at the time, "This past year, I've had some health issues. The results from numerous MRIs, CT scans, and an echocardiogram have alerted my medical team, that I need another open-heart surgery.
"I really have no option and no choice as health is my number one priority. Grateful to have been chosen with a life full with the gift of music... Thank you for walking beside me."
