(Brickshore Media) Country-alt artist Jennifer Alvarado returns with her most vulnerable and cohesive project to date, Map of Broken Hearts - an eight-track EP collection that traces the emotional geography of love, loss, and the courage it takes to feel deeply. The EP is available now on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
Known for her fearless storytelling and genre-blending sound, Alvarado leans fully into her signature mix of country and alternative influences, delivering a project that feels both intimate and cinematic. "I've had my heart broken a time or two, and one of my favorite ways to process that loss is through a song," Alvarado shares. "As I started writing more songs that were tied to places, the project really began to create itself."
What began as a lighthearted joke soon evolved into the emotional anchor of the record. Inspired by songs like Paris, Colorado, and Arcadia, as well as her rendition of I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), the idea of a "map of broken hearts" took shape - symbolizing the lengths one is willing to go for love and the places that forever hold pieces of our stories. "Real love has no limits," she explains. "It doesn't matter the distance or what you're willing to sacrifice to be with your person. That's what this project represents."
Produced by Ricky Rodriguez at Bombhouse Studios, the EP captures a raw, reflective energy throughout, with additional production by Jesse Savio and engineering by Brian Pruett on select tracks.
At its core, Map of Broken Hearts is not just about heartbreak, it's about perspective. Through moments of longing, reflection, and quiet resilience, Alvarado hopes listeners walk away with a renewed understanding of love itself. "Even though love can hurt, it can leave you brokenhearted and questioning everything, but it's still beautiful and worth it," she says. "When it's real, it removes the fear of being fully seen. And that kind of love is always worth the risk."
