(MCA) Nashville-based singer-songwriter Wyatt McCubbin has released his debut album 650 via Dave Cobb's Lucille Records/MCA. After more than 15 years establishing himself as one of Nashville's most trusted songwriters, Wyatt traces his roots on this 10-song collection - from a four-way-stop town in Ohio where he was raised, to his home in Nashville, where country music on the radio was a constant thread throughout his life. Along with the album, he shares the lyric video for tender album highlight "Boy In The Boat," which he wrote for his two-year-old son, Autry.
To date, Wyatt's Dave Cobb-produced debut 650 has already garnered praise from Billboard, MusicRow and Holler, with early singles including the Marty Stuart co-penned "I Love You," "All Outta You" and "Andy Griffith," which All Country News dubbed "one of the year's best country songs." Recorded live to tape at Cobb's Thunderbolt Studios in Savannah, GA, 650 is the culmination of over 2,000 songs Wyatt has written over the last decade and a half. He explains, "This 36 minutes is really 16 years in the making."
Rich with vivid details that feel instantly familiar, these songs showcase the timeless storytelling that has made Wyatt one of Nashville's most respected songwriters, with his songs recorded by artists like Luke Combs, Zach Top, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson, earning him a spot on MusicRow's Top 100 Songwriters list in both 2024 and 2025. For the first time in his career, he is a co-writer on three songs currently climbing the country radio charts: Riley Green's "Think As You Drunk," Cody Johnson's "Horseback," and Jon Pardi's "Boots Off."
From being introduced to country music in his grandfather's garage to writing music for his own children, family is woven throughout 650. Wyatt's wife Holly provides harmony vocals throughout the album and handpicked "Fly, Baby, Fly," a song Wyatt wrote for their daughter, Dove. "This is nowhere near the same album without her fingerprints on it," says Wyatt. "Having my entire family represented on the album means the world to me."
Fresh off a run of shows with Zach Top, Wyatt will be playing a hometown show tonight in Plain City, Ohio, at The Grainery, followed by Nashville's Grand Ole Opry on Sunday. Next year, he will support Luke Combs for 12 shows on his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour. Stream the album here and see the dates below:
