(Scoop) Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi), the leader in high-fidelity audio reissues, is proud to announce the first-ever 45RPM audiophile release of Carly Simon's commercial breakthrough and '70s singer-songwriter staple, No Secrets.
The album, which arrives on February 20, is available for order at mofi.com (here) as a numbered-edition 180g 45RPM 2LP set strictly limited to 3,000 copies. Sourced from the original master tapes (1/4" / 15 IPS Dolby A analog master to DSD 256 to analog console to lathe) and pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing in California, this definitive reissue is housed in a premium Stoughton gatefold jacket.
Recorded at London's Trident Studios and helmed by producer Richard Perry, No Secrets features an all-star cast including James Taylor, Mick Jagger, Paul and Linda McCartney, Lowell George, Klaus Voormann, and more. On this restorative edition, the wider grooves and dead-quiet surfaces allow the album's exceptional production to shine with unparalleled realism. Simon's voice takes on a confident, assertive tenor that emerges with accurate imaging and palpable presence, while string arrangements and backing vocals float across a wide, deep soundstage with balanced tonality.
The platinum-certified effort is anchored by the No. 1 smash "You're So Vain," which Rolling Stone ranks among the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Throughout the record, Simon navigates themes of personal introspectiveness and feminist-inspired boldness with a candor-handling beautiful ballads, sassy folk-rock, and bluesy fare with a composure that remains immune to the ravages of time.
