Calum Scott Taos Aitch For Reimagined 'Unsteady'

(Capitol) Calum Scott unites with English rap sensation Aitch for a reimagined version of "Unsteady," a romantic ode to accepting imperfection originally found on Calum's 2025 album Avenoir.

The "Unsteady" team-up infuses the slowly blooming track with extra punch while doubling down on the hopeful message. "I'm a little unsteady, a little messed up, a little bit petty," Calum admits before he delivers the twist: "But... I've found a place to go, and I'm standing all alone with you / 'Cause you're unsteady, too." Aitch picks up the theme, delivering a heartfelt dedication: "Even better than expected from the second we connected / Yeah, I might be a little crazy, but you're the only one that gets it." The video, directed by Ben Morgan, fittingly films the two artists in a way that exposes the studio's seams and edges, interspersed with shots of couples from all walks of life sharing cozy, loving moments.

Calum recently shared a video tracing the new song's serendipitous lineage, and the backstory is just as heart-warming. "Our collaboration came about so organically," says Calum. "I saw a post of Aitch's sister, Gracie, singing 'You Are the Reason' and sent a thank you video to Aitch to pass on and she was buzzing with it! Aitch and I started chatting and we said we should collab so we got in a studio. I showed him 'Unsteady' before it was released and he was like 'give me an hour'. Aitch is a great guy with an amazing talent who has brought a completely new dynamic to the song whilst keeping the message sincere."

"Loved working with Calum, he's a top guy," says Aitch.

Earlier this month, Calum wrapped the Asian leg of his headlining Avenoir Tour, following a lengthy string of dates in the UK, Europe, and South Africa. On March 23, he launches the North America leg in Vancouver, BC, before continuing on to such hallowed venues as The Wiltern in Los Angeles, Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater, and New York City's Terminal 5. From there, he heads back across the pond to helm a pair of English arena shows before venturing back into Europe.

All of this activity, of course, follows the October release of Avenoir, Calum's third album. The 14-song set showcases his evolution as both a vocalist and songwriter, sporting an ambitious sonic palette that balances his signature soul-stirring ballads (singles "Die For You" and "God Knows") with groove-heavy anthems like "At Your Worst" and "Roots."
