(BT PR) DANNA enters an exciting new creative era with release of her bold new EP, Lucid Dreams out today. The EP marks her most personal and sonically daring work to date. The collection explores the blurred lines between fantasy and reality, desire and vulnerability, control and surrender.
DANNA debuted the EP's first single, "You Could Be That Boy" today in an interview with The Zane Lowe Show for Apple Music1. "You Could Be That Boy" is also the cover of Apple's coveted New Music Daily playlist. DANNA sings with longing "you could be that boy," clinging to the idea of what love could've been and the reality it's faded into routine, capturing heartbreak, desire and struggle to let go. Listen to "You Could Be That Boy" and Lucid Dreams here.
Lucid Dreams showcases DANNA at her most fearless and is the first installment from her most ambitious project yet, a concept album aptly titled Visions to be released later this year. Marking a defining moment in her artistic evolution, she describes this era not as a project, but as a "journey" in which she's discovering herself throughout the process. Lucid Dreams was produced by DANNA and her music collaborators Hoyer, Zhone, and Jarome Su'a.
Lucid Dreams, the first Visions installment, is what DANNA describes as a "sensorial experience." Featuring hypnotizing vocals where she sings in both Spanish and English, the project finds DANNA questioning her inner world, building a universe where sounds appear and disappear almost physically. "For me, creating is channeling. I am merely a vessel... and whatever flows through me, I share," she says. "Because creating is, in essence, precisely that: inhabiting what you are building as it unfolds."
Highlighting her continued growth as an artistic visionary, Lucid Dreams weaves together cinematic production with intimate storytelling. In addition to "That Boy" additional tracks include "Again," "Out Of My Body" and "Movie Star." From haunting late-night anthems to euphoric, high-energy tracks, Lucid Dreams captures the duality of escapism and awakening.
Talking about the overall concept for the album DANNA explains, "Visions stems from that invisible realm we enter when we sleep-the subconscious, the unspoken, our fears, desires, and fantasies. It feels like stepping into my inner world, making it tangible, and sharing it with others," she says. "And that is exactly what I want people to feel: I want them to step into this world with me, to make it their own, to lose themselves within it."
