(planetary) Scott Fisher returns with the final single before the release of his newest album. Serving as the title track for the album, "A Billion Suns" is now yours to stream on all digital platforms.
Discussing the impermanence of life and the desire to enjoy the present, Scott Fisher's "A Billion Suns" blends jazz-influenced rock guitars with his buttery vocals, resulting in a cathartic and timeless ode. Sonically, the new track is the most indie-rock forward on the album, as it blends dreamy piano and string textures with the gritty, melodic bass lines provided by Tim Lefebvre.
Scott Fisher speaks in further detail about the inspiration behind the track: "Lyrically, the theme explores losing someone slowly. Without being too specific, it's about coming to grips with watching one of the most influential people in your life fade away, both physically and cognitively. We all eventually walk that valley alone-it is an omnipresent part of the human experience. Ultimately, I'm singing about keeping it together during those challenging moments; music is simply my way of processing those feelings."
Featuring an impressive roster of musicians, A Billion Suns was recorded at East West Studios, featuring incredibly talented and long-time collaborators Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Black Crowes, Sting) on the bass and Joey Waronker (Thom Yorke, Beck, Oasis, Roger Waters) on drums.
