(CL Media) Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning hip-hop legend, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Ludacris drops a hilarious cinematic music video for his knockout new single "Pull Over" produced by DJ Toomp [Jay-Z, Nas, T.I. etc.] out now via DTP Records/Def Jam Recordings.
Lensed by celebrated acclaimed music video director Dave Meyers and Cam Erickson, "Pull Over" throws it back to the insanely funny and ultra creative music videos that cemented Ludacris among hip-hop's finest back at the turn of the century. Of course, Meyers helmed the unforgettable visuals for "Stand Up" and "How Low," and this reunion sees them channel the energy of those classics in this new blockbuster visual.
It also represents how the iconic MC continues to be a leader when it comes to delivering unforgettable music videos. Bringing the lyrics to life, he glances at a lady on the side of the road and proceeds to crash his car. From there, the clip jumps between meme-able vignettes of Ludacris becoming an infant, frying a gigantic fish, and even receiving a buzzcut (with a chainsaw!).
There's still no one that delivers like him! Next up, Ludacris will take the stage as a presenter at the American Music Awards on Monday May 25 in Los Angeles live on CBS | Paramount+ at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
"Pull Over" has reacted with audiences and tastemakers in a big way, already generating millions of streams and counting. Not to mention, Complex proclaimed, "The animated Dave Meyers-directed music video marks the rollout of Luda's first solo album in over 10 years."
In advance of the song's release, he had HBCUs nationwide buzzing just in time for graduation. Marching bands took over school football stadiums with the drumlines and horns making the track Friday Night Lights-ready! Baller Alert documented the phenomenon as did The Neighborhood Talk along with many more. Check out the viral videos now!
In case you missed it, he debuted "Pull Over" during his showstopping performance and hosting at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, cranking up anticipation for its release-and delivering now!
In 2025, he commemorated the 25th anniversary of his breakout second full-length album, Back For The First Time, with a brand-new limited-edition Vinyl version out now. It has incited widespread retrospective acclaim. Looking back, VIBE recalled, "The album was the launchpad for what has been a legendary career, as Ludacris went on to release several more studio albums and is now widely regarded as one of the most popular and acclaimed artists the south has ever produced."
Reigniting southern hip-hop, Ludacris vaulted to the forefront of the culture when he originally dropped Back For The First Time on October 17, 2000-exactly 25 years ago. Upon arrival, the album bowed at #4 on the Billboard 200 and captured #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. It eventually earned a 3x-Platinum certification from the RIAA. Among a myriad of heaters, it boasted the 2x-Platinum-certified classic "What's Your Fantasy" [feat. Shawnna], which reached #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and graced the soundtrack of the cult classic comedy How High. Plus, it spawned the seminal "Southern Hospitality" [feat. Pharrell]. Thus far, the record has amassed hundreds of millions of streams.
