(MPG) Yelawolf shares his new single "My Country," a hook-driven track that explores overlapping ideas of identity, culture, and home. Yelawolf will soon release new video content in support of the song. "My Country" is the second single from Yelawolf's upcoming album 45, which is slated for 2026 release via ONErpm.
"Listen... literally not a single person in my life grew up on a tractor, a farm, or herded cattle... I've never been hunting, I buy all my taxidermy and my trucks will never see the mud... I got one foot in the creek and one foot in the streets, one foot in the woods and one foot in the hood. Throw some gold spokes and Vogues underneath that single wide trailer and there you go! Oh... and wrap it in Gucci with Christmas lights on the front porch year-round... That's what my country looks like... how bout yours?" - Yelawolf
"My Country" follows the release of the slow-burning single "Simple." Yelawolf has also announced The War Within Tour, alongside the Grammy-nominated alt-rock group Highly Suspect. See below for a complete list of tour dates.
"This Highly Suspects tour is gonna be mayhem!!! 'The War Within' tour title says it all ... the fans are gonna catch a wave of transition from all sides ... I love rock and roll tours and we can't f***in wait !!!" - Yelawolf
Yelawolf built his career by breaking through artistic boundaries, and on his forthcoming album 45 he once again kicks down the doors of genre conventions. The result is a deeply personal collection of songs that unites elements of modern Americana with his signature vocal delivery while showcasing the full depth of his songwriting. Centered around his voice as both a singer and storyteller, 45 draws from a collision of distinctly American musical traditions - from the heartland sound of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, the gritty storytelling of outlaw country troubadours to the loose, melodic swagger of Southern rock. Though widely known for his fiery rap delivery, Yelawolf sings on every track across 45, revealing a rawer and more vulnerable side of his artistry
13-track effort boasts a full circle contribution by Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul as well as New Zealand group Six60. Coupled with production by longtime collaborator Malay, 45 is the perfect marriage of all of Yelawolf's musical inclinations.
"Overall, 45 is a confessional album," writes Yelawolf. "I think the vulnerability and honesty is what's going to connect with listeners the most. I didn't know these songs were in me to be honest. But for many of the core fans... it may just be the album they've been waiting for from me."
"For core fans, this album will not be much of a surprise," Yelawolf says. "If you've been listening and following, you know that I've been singing my whole career. I decided for this particular album, I wanted to sing top to bottom. No rap verses-just a full singer-songwriter album."
"This is the most important album of my life... but it's scary as hell," writes Yelawolf. "This is a big jump, but Malay did such a good job crafting this music to where it didn't alienate where I came from. It just tips the hat to it so perfectly."
By the end of the album closer, "Pair of Dice," it's clear Yelawolf is still who he's always been-a fearless risk-taker, visionary, gifted storyteller and driven entrepreneur who, despite all odds, landed at the top. With 45, Yelawolf captures a vibrant snapshot of who he was, is and will become. The new era is here.
