ALEXSUCKS Reveal 'Flinch' Video As New Album Autopilot Arrives

(Warner) L.A. chaos agents ALEXSUCKS drop their highly anticipated new album, Autopilot, out now on Warner Records - listen here. A heartracing blur of raw garage rock, infectious dance-punk, moody post-punk, and unpredictable energy, the nine-song set makes a powerful case that 2026 is poised to be the year of the band.

Autopilot arrives alongside a music video for the Gothic-tinged, synth-addled album standout "Flinch," which juxtaposes a driving four-on-the-floor beat against lyrics that channel frontman Alex Alvarez's impressionistic side: "Spinning off of the world, in a dream / I'm running slow, is it me?" The video brings that dizzying balance to life, capturing the band members on grainy VHS style footage projected into a room where mysterious figures come and go.

Across unheard gems like the mellower "Duct Tape" and gritty fuzz-bomb "Fish Don't Fly," Alex spills out lines that split the difference between internal monologue and gutter-punk poetry - honest, vulnerable, occasionally cryptic, sometimes self-deprecating, and always enthralling. Rounded out by guitarist John Luther, drummer Jonny Ransom, and bassist Garrett Orseno, ALEXSUCKS infuse the whole of Autopilot with a restless, livewire intensity.

Of course, fans were already treated to a handful of highlights including the highly combustible "Autopilot" and "The Headache," a whistle-propelled alt-rock bop that came with a thrilling visual full of performance footage and side quests from the road. Before those came "Flowers & Dirt" - a tribute to finding love in low places featuring Alex's actual girlfriend, indie-pop artist Lola Bllue - and "Worm in the Sun," which was dubbed "an absolute banger" by Ones to Watch and was one of two ALEXSUCKS songs to land in the beloved skate. video game.

In just five days, the band launches their headlining autopilot US tour, set to storm sweaty rock clubs around the country well into March after the band proved their mettle last year via seismic sets at Lollapalooza and in packed houses here and abroad.

The LP and tour are both culmination and jumping-off point for a wild run that's found the band cementing their status as the new faces of modern rock. Inspired by '00s indie - while bringing their own sonic influences, gungy style, and subtly sticky hooks - ALEXSUCKS crashed into the L.A. scene in the summer of 2023 with their debut album The Gutter. Striking standouts "6 Pack and Cigarettes" and "Can We Forget" tallied over 4.2 million and 3.3 million streams, respectively, at one point pushing the band's monthly Spotify listener count over 800,000.

ALEXSUCKS then capped off 2024 with their head-turning Warm Beers EP. Thus far, the short but impactful set has earned 10 million total streams and gushing acclaim from press and artists alike. Alternative Press hailed Warm Beers as an "addicting" "six-song collection that spans the worlds of alternative rock, dance-punk, and old-school MTV." Meanwhile, Zac Carper of their 2024 tourmates FIDLAR urged 303 Magazine, "Everybody needs to check out the band that is supporting us. ALEXSUCKS. They have this song called 'Warm Beers' that makes me cry."
