(Press Here) Tedeschi Trucks Band (TTB), the GRAMMY Award-winning band led by the dynamic wife and husband duo of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, has announced the release of The Garden Party.
The feature film, directed by GRAMMY-nominated director John McDermott (Music, Money, Madness...Jimi Hendrix In Maui, Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood Live at Madison Square Garden) and co-produced by BAFTA Award-winning producer George Scott (Alan Cumming's Most Luxurious Train Journeys Scotland, Home Again: Carole King Live In Central Park) alongside Trucks, Tedeschi and McDermott, documents TTB's sold-out, headlining debut performance at Madison Square Garden on September 29, 2023, interspersed with commentary from Derek and Susan.
The all-star evening, featuring special guests Trey Anastasio, Norah Jones and Lukas Nelson, was hailed by Relix as "a two-and-a-half-hour musical journey," who also noted, "the performance was lush with unforgettable and inimitable moments of musical excellence."
"For both of us, going from Manny's Car Wash to Madison Square Garden has been pretty surreal," exclaims Trucks.
"This performance at Madison Square Garden showcases just how special and unique the Tedeschi Trucks Band is," adds McDermott. "I have long wanted to create a film like this so that people everywhere can see how extraordinary this band is."
The Garden Party will premiere at a special screening event at New York's Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, March 22, following the release of TTB's new studio album, Future Soul, on March 20th. The family-friendly event - which falls in the middle of the band's 10-night run at the Beacon Theatre (March 10-28) - will begin at 1pm and will feature full concert sound for the screening. Entry tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids under 16. Fan club presale tickets are available now with the general on-sale commencing today (March 10th) at 5pm ET - Get tickets here.
The theatrical release for The Garden Party will launch later this spring following an additional screening event near Susan's hometown of Boston on Friday, May 1 at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA. More screenings in select cities across the country to follow.
