(The Syndicate) Head Automatica have announced a June tour throughout the western United States beginning June 1 in Seattle, before moving on for performances in Portland at Holocene, Sacramento at Goldfield Trading Post, Santa Ana at Constellation Room, Phoenix at Rebel Lounge and Salt Lake City at Urban Lounge, before culminating in a finale at Marquis in Denver, CO on June 11.
The band debuted in 2004, the brainchild of Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw) and Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School). The outfit allowed Daryl, a punk-rooted frontman, to explore his affinity for new wave, garage, and synth heavy electronics. They toured with The Cure, Gary Numan, Interpol and others, played the main stages at Coachella, Riot Fest and Slam Dunk (UK) and collaborated with El-P, Del the Funky Homosapien and Howard Benson. By 2012, having toured extensively and released two albums, they entered indefinite hiatus. In the interim fifteen years, the group has managed to gain 42+ Million streams.
Last year, the band began writing and playing select headlining and festival dates. They'll be releasing their long anticipated third full-length later this year. This more matured version of HA retains their electronic roots while showcasing a new depth. Version 3 of the band includes original guitarist (and co-writer of their hit "Beating Heart Baby") Craig Bonich, Glassjaw drummer Chad Hasty and longtime collaborator with Daryl, Richard Flesh. This iteration has released two singles in as many years, most recently the thumping, industrial banger "Annulment," which followed on the heels of their first song since the release of their sophomore album Popaganda, "Bear The Cross."
