The Killers Announce Newly Mastered Special Edition Vinyl Reissues And Box Set

(The Oriel Company) The Killers are thrilled to announce the release of newly mastered LPs and a 7" box set celebrating the 20th anniversary of their beloved sophomore album, Sam's Town.

The limited-numbered 2 LP 45 RPM audiophile edition and Red Smoke-colored 33 RPM edition were mastered at Sterling Sound using assembled analog masters and sound better than ever. Additionally, the first-ever Sam's Town 7" box set compiles all of the Sam's Town-era 7" releases and adds a bonus single. All merchandise is available to preorder here.

20 years later, Sam's Town remains as iconic and integral to The Killers' discography as ever. After the band toured their breakthrough debut album Hot Fuss, they returned to Las Vegas to begin work on a follow-up record with legendary producers Alan Moulder and Flood. The resulting project, Sam's Town, is a love letter of sorts to their hometown and one of their most personal works to date. The project spent an impressive forty-two weeks on the Billboard Top 200 and boasts fan-favorite tracks like "When You Were Young" and "Read My Mind."

The 2LP 45 RPM Audiophile Edition of Sam's Town is mastered for vinyl and cut from the assembled analog masters by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. It is pressed at Optimal Media in Germany on two 180-gram LPs at 45 RPM for maximum fidelity and housed in a heavyweight gatefold jacket with OBI strip and 12-page booklet. This edition also includes the bonus track "Peace Of Mind." It is numbered and limited to 4000 copies worldwide.

Additionally, The Killers unveil a limited-edition Red Smoke Vinyl. It is mastered for vinyl and cut from the assembled analog masters by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound and pressed on one 180-gram LP at 33 RPM.

The Sam's Town 7" box set is limited to 2000 copies worldwide. The set features all four 7" singles from the Sam's Town era ("When You Were Young," "Bones," "Read My Mind," "For Reasons Unknown") with their respective original B-sides. It also includes a bonus fifth 7" with "Peace Of Mind" on the A-side and "Read My Mind" (Like Rebel Diamonds Mix) on the B-side, which marks the first time this mix has been available on vinyl. The five singles are pressed on classic black vinyl and housed in a top-loading box alongside a bonus folded 14"x14" poster.
